First take care of your diet, don't eat junk food, food that is too much oily. View All Answers (1)A. Cucumber is an amazing skin care remedy. It not only nourishes the skin but also reduces the acne and pimple redness. Due to high water content and astringent properties, cucumber has a cooling effect on the skin. It restricts the blood vessels in the skin which in turn reduces the redness. Please visit these links for more information- http://www.onlymyhealth.com/health- slideshow/how-to-reduce-pimple-and-acne-redness- 1389005602.html/http://www.onlymyhealth.com/health-slideshow/how-to-reduce-pimple-and-acne- redness-1389005602.html Disclaimer:All possible measures have been taken to ensure accuracy, reliability, timeliness and authenticity of the information; however Onlymyhealth.com does not take any liability for the same. Too much oil on skin usually triggers the problem, consumption of junk and oily food, pollution, hormonal changes, there are times when some medications went wrong can cause acne. View All Answers (1)A. Acne or breakouts on the skin are usually a result of something going wrong inside the body. If you want to treat acne, you must find out what the root cause of the problem is. And, this you can either try finding out at home or by visiting a doctor. Also, a major cause for acne could be the lack of proper care. Are you taking good care of your skin? Do you wash it at least two times throughout the day? Are you using a good face wash?

Tomatoes are great for oily skin due to its properties of cooling and clearing. The natural oil-absorbing acids in tomatoesalso help get rid of excess oil. Rub a cut tomato on the skin till the juice soaks the skin. Rinse after 15 minutes with cold water.

For people with moderate to severe acne, doctors often prescribe oral antibiotics (pills) in addition to topical medication. Oral antibiotics are thought to help control acne by curbing the growth of bacteria, thereby decreasing inflammation.

View All Answers (2)A. Here are some remedies I tried and found effective. Hope they work for you too. 1. Apply fresh lemon juice. It has natural skin bleaching properties, and can help to effectively lighten your acne scars. 2. Baking soda can be used to exfoliate the skin and minimize the appearance of acne scars. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with two teaspoons of water to form a liquid paste. Apply this paste all over your face and use gentle circular motions to rub the baking soda into the skin, concentrating on the scarred areas, for about two minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat the skin dry.

Acne may be a result of increased levels of male hormones, such as testosterone or DHEAS. In some cases, these male hormone levels will be normal, but a woman's body may have an increased sensitivity to testosterone. In both instances, a birth control pill can be extremely useful in treating acne. An endocrinologist will also make sure your acne is not a symptom of polycystic ovary syndrome, a common disorder in young women.

Apply zinc directly to skin. Try finding a lotion with 1.2% zinc acetate and erythromycin 4% and rub it into the skin twice daily. If you can't find this, puncture a zinc gel tablet, squeeze some of the gel onto your clean finger or a Q-tip, and apply directly to your back.

View All Answers (1)A. Benzoyl peroxide is a powerful ingredient that is effective against all kinds of acne lesions (blackheads, whiteheads, and big red pimples). It is bactericidal, meaning it kills bacteria, rather than simply slowing down their growth. However, one thing to watch out for with benzoyl peroxide is that it can also cause drying, peeling, and redness if it's not delivered in the right amount, surrounded by the right mix of ingredients.

View All Answers (1)A. Hi Shubham, that is a very common problem yet it is very much treatable. All you need to do is to avoid squeezing your zits and apply a 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide lotion every night. Don't apply it during the day because it can cause irritation in reaction with the sunlight. Also, to keep your skin from becoming oily, wash your face twice or thrice with a face wash made up of salicylic acid.
