Hello Bindra, it is known as 'In Vitro Fertilization', and is one of the newer and more complex assisted reproductive technologies, or ART procedures that have been available since the birth 18 years ago of Louise Brown, the world's first "test tube baby." Through IVF it gets possible to combine sperm and eggs in a laboratory for a baby that is genetically related to one or both partners. It isoften used when a woman's fallopian tubes are blocked. At first, the woman is given medication to stimulate the ovaries and produce multiple eggs. Once mature, the eggs are suctioned from the ovaries and placed in a laboratory culture dish with the man's sperm for fertilization. This dish is then placed in an incubator. After two days three to five embryos are transferred to the woman's uterus. If the woman does not become pregnant, she may try again in the next cycle.

If you have been sexually active, have regular menstrual cycles and have missed one cycle, you are perhaps definitely pregnant, but this does not mean there is no other way you may have missed your periodd. Do you experience signs of pregnancy like fatigue, excessive sleepiness, a forceful need to visit the washroom almost all day and especially at night or breast soreness? If you are experiencing these signs, you must get a pregnancy test done asap. In fact, now is the right time to be sure if you are pregnant or not. Another reason could be that you missed ovulating this month and will therefore, not menstruate. The only way you can be sure is by getting a pregnancy test done.
