Is mild fever after surgery normal?

My father had a surgery last week and he is suffering from mild fever. Is it because of the surgery? Could something be wrong with him?

    Mild fever post surgery is normal but if the fever stays and gets severe with each passing day, a doctor's attention is needed. But, do not wait for the fever to get severe. If you think the fever has not been subsiding, consult the doctor.

    Yes it is. My uncle had a surgery a few months ago and he caught fever just a week after that. Your worry is absolutely understandable because of the nature of problem, but there is nothing to worry about unless other complications develop with the fever....  more
