Many people who have normal blood pressurecan give the impression of hypertension, or white-coat hypertension, at doctor's office. It occurs because of anxiety and is considered somewhat common.

Blood pressure can rise or fall throughout the day because of many factors. Sometimes, anxiety can cause a spike in blood pressure. This is why it is advised to take multiple readings under normal circumstances to get a good idea of your blood pressure.
