What could be the reasons for difficulty in urinating?

I am facing problems while urinating. The flow is irregular and I have to put pressure. What could it be?

    Difficulty urinating could be due to anatomical abnormalities within the genitourinary tract. Enlargement of the prostate gland in men is one of the reasons. You should get it checked.

    Enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), inflammation or infection of the prostate gland (prostatitis), nervous system disorders and recent surgery (postoperative retention) are the foremost reasons for urinary hesitancy.
